How to plan your days in Mallorca
Mallorca is deceptive on a map: it looks small, but mountain roads are slow and in summer beach car parks near the coves fill up before ten. Our advice is to organise the island by area and dedicate one day to each, rather than crossing it end to end every morning. Based in Palma de Mallorca, none of the plans on this page exceed 150 kilometres round trip.
If you're travelling with kids, the southeast is the most rewarding area: fine sand, shallow water and pine shade. The Serra de Tramuntana works better as a day of viewpoints and villages, with short, frequent stops. And the north, between Alcúdia and Pollença, combines calm bays with flat cycling routes.
Charging and range along the route
All these routes can be done on a single charge, even with the car full of people and luggage. Even so, we always use the lunch stop to plug in: there are charging points in Palma, Sóller, Port de Sóller, Inca, Manacor, Alcúdia, Port de Pollença, Felanitx and Santanyí, among others. Every rental comes with the charging point guide we use ourselves.
Consumption increases on mountain climbs, but regenerative braking on the descents returns a significant part of that energy: a round trip to Sóller or Sa Calobra turns out better than most people expect.
What to bring in the van
With seven seats and a large boot, you don't have to choose: cool boxes, umbrellas, boards, dismantled bikes or child seats all fit without playing tetris. Folding the third row multiplies the cargo space, useful if four of you are travelling with sports gear.
Bring water, caps and comfortable shoes: almost every stop involves a bit of walking. And if it's your first trip in an electric car, let us know when you send your request and we'll spend a few extra minutes at handover answering questions about driving and charging.
Tailor-made routes
These three plans are just a starting point. If you have five days or are travelling with a large group, tell us what you'd like and we'll prepare an itinerary tailored to your dates, with the road stretches that work best for the time of year.
